2/2/2010 Andy Goldsworthy

This public art piece by Andy Goldsworthy allows the audience to think of nature in a different way. The tree being place completely underground gives us a chance to think of the tree outside of its normal context. Because the window to the tree is in the ground instead of a wall it also encourages people to look at the whole landscape and enjoy all the scenery around them. This also makes you think of the entire tree. The roots of trees are underground. This allows people a window into the nature below the ground surface.
